Christmas & Cheap Labor: Does Ignorance = Innocence?

cheap 8cheap 3An article I read recently, 5 Giant Companies Who Use Slave Labor, poised a powerful question, ‘How many people had to suffer so we can have cheap products?’  Hummm, I never thought of it that way.

I don’t feel so giddy and innocent now going to stock up at ‘Dollarama’ and ‘Giant Tiger’.

After sharing the story with friends and family, many responded similar to me. Quite simply, now that I am aware of this ; it is unacceptable to me and I will no longer participate, by not shopping at these stores/buying these products (as much as possible, as I am aware of)  & by promoting a new, fair and equitable money system.  Spreading awareness is another way to be an active participant in stopping this exploitation.

It does shock me now, that I never questioned the very low prices before and deepens my surprise and awareness of my robotic behaviour. “Don’t look too closely at the world systems just focus on your self interest and walk blindly…ooo arn’t you lucky you found that great deal to fill your children’s stockings at Christmas and can afford to buy a new spring wardrobe so as to feel a sense of abundance, not quite so cheated compared to your rich friends…better hurry…grab it before someone else does.”   The truth is its just a ‘fix’ like a drug, temporary relief for the frustrated middle class.

So, to answer the question, yes I believe ignorance is an ‘excuse’/innocent to a certain extent. That many of us when our eyes are opened to the ugly truth of slave and child labour, will take a firm stand, to at least not shop at these stores-its a start.

However, once we as consumers are made aware-no longer ignorant of the facts- we are not innocent at all, but responsible to walk the changes necessary, no matter how long or what it takes, to bring about justice , a world of oneness and equality.  So all may enjoy a life of dignity, so all have a life worth living

The shopping fix, for unnecessary items, is just like any other drug, alcohol or the bright, sparkly lights that daze & dazzle us at christmas. Is it your ‘fault’ you became an addict? Perhaps not or more to the point it doesn’t really matter …it is your responsibility to change your behaviour for the good of all !  No excuses are acceptable.

Poverty and Pregnancy

poverty and preg 2Being pregnant is difficult in the best of circumstances.  I realize there are women who breeze through this experience but for many it is a very trying time.  I recall, with my second pregnancy, thinking I must have some serious disease because within the first 2 or 3 weeks I was literally exhausted and felt extremely ill.  I did not consider I was pregnant at the time for several reasons.  It hit me like a truck and I spent alot of time in bed.  Now, at that time I lived in a lovely neighborhood, owned a home and good vehicle and, though my husband and I did not have alot extra, we had a all we needed. I was a stay at home mom to my 2 year old daughter.

I live in Canada which provides an excellent health care system. I did not have to work, (although looking after a 2 year old is work) not outside the home anyway. I had all doctor appointments/ exams paid for, all hospital fees were taken care of: doctor, delivery room and staff, any drugs, emergency surgery if required and 3 days in the hospital after the birth of the baby.  In Canada prescription drugs are not provided for free but I recall I did not take anything stronger than the occasional asprin, during my pregnancy, anyhow.

Throughout both of my pregnancies, all the doctors, midwife, technicians, that I saw as a patient treated me with the utmost respect, gave me their undivided attention, time, sincere concern, and advice. I never felt looked down upon or unimportant. Good thing too, it’s a very vulnerable position to be in! It can also be an emotional and frightening time for a woman, her body is changing rapidly and she has to be concerned about another life , in the immediate moment and for several years to come!  It is clear that woman need much TLC during this time.

In stark comparison to my experience, is the reality hundreds of thousands of pregnant women face each year.  I was aghast but not surprised, to read about some of the horrors pregnant women who are poor, face in the vast slums of Nairobi. When some of these women were asked about their major concerns, two things emerged: one, the sub-standard treatment they receive from healthcare workers , due to the stigma of  ‘poor’ branded on these women and two, the harsh reality of the necessity to earn income outside of the home.

An article taken from ‘The Standard’, a Nairobi online newpaper, written by Michael Oriedo states, “The African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC) study says poor women shun modern maternity and delivery services, not because they do not have money, but because they suffer poor treatment at the facilities .The study finds that some health providers are not charitable towards poor pregnant women, often abandoning them or ignoring them when they visit health center and hospitals.”   So these women often turn to local midwives who are affordable and give them the  time and respectful service they deserve -as a human being-and to the unborn human being she is carrying!

This is not to suggest the midwife is inferior to the traditional medical doctor/nurse in any way. However, one should not have to go without necessary treatment and seek out an alternative, which could take weeks, have financial costs, and holds risks (ie. if a cesarean section is needed, the midwife may not have the equipment/tools/skills to perform this emergency surgery) when there are already, at a facility, capable practitioners in attendance.

poverty and pregThis is unacceptable as these women are equal to the richest of pregnant women anywhere in this world and must be treated as such. They are indeed life as is the unborn child, as are you, as is the care provider who ignores the patient. What is required is an economic and political system, in which having the money to pay for essential health care services is provided, one such proposal is a Living Income Guaranteed. LIG ensures that no one is left behind having no access to basic services by providing each citizen with all of the basic necessities to live a dignified life.  I refuse to participate any longer in well oiled excuse like, ‘well, that is their lot in life’, ‘God, has a plan’, ‘there is nothing I can do about  it’, “it’s up to my higher power, I’m not in control of that, they must have something they are suppose to learn in this lifetime.’  Shame on us.

If I was to take a can of spray paint and cover your house or car in graffiti would you have the right to stop me?  Maybe its just ‘god’s will’ or ‘your lot in life’ or a ‘higher plan’?  Well, you can fix it but suppose each time you fixed it, I did it again!  Would that make you angry? And that was just your property not your wife, mother, sister, child I was damaging. ‘That’s ridiculous’, you may retort. No, what is ridiculous is to let a situation continue in which one pregnant woman is taken care of and another overlooked-simply because of the coin in her purse. Literally one baby is given human care/love and another human discarded, that is despicable.

The second major problem, the pregnant women in the slums of Nairobi face, is the stark fact of needing to make money so their families don’t starve, let alone pay for other necessities of daily living…er I should say daily surviving.  The same article in The Standard, Michael Oriedo reports, “…Poverty forces pregnant women into doing heavy workloads, catering for the children they have already as well as  babies’ needs. Due to poverty, women work hard during pregnancy and the period surrounding it. They work in construction sites as head-carriers and loaders, stay out late selling their wares, or go from door to door looking for work.”

To be a head-carrier is heavy, physical work, I would have literally thrown up and fainted and I am completely serious. Realize, I would have also gotten up , like these women, and ‘soldiered on’ to feed my other children at home, pay rent and electricity etc. but it would be hell.  I assume it is very hot in Nairobi so easy to become dehydrated. I wonder if these women get fair/compassionate breaks, water, nutrition, increased bathroom breaks on the job site, paid sick days or just sick days without the threat of loosing their job, paid time off for doctors appointments? Perhaps some, I don’t know but I’m guessing no. Perhaps some employers do and/or some want to be helpful to these women but have their own troubles and family to pay for. I know I have been guilty of this , ‘I’ll be more ‘giving’ after I straighten out this debt I have.’  Slipping into self interest and justifications.  Sadly, it’s the money system.  We’re monkeys in a cage, all of humanity but the rich and the invisible elite. They have the freedom/movement that money provides, all the best services (health, fitness, travel, vacations, no stress from money worries).

I understand that in other parts of the world, there are also trials and tribulations that pregnant woman face, this is not a competition.  I am simply looking at one situation in our world. We are not separate; one world, your world , my world.  Indeed, one baby, your baby, my baby.  One problem for us all to address and, finally,  find a solution that is best for all.

These women have to work very hard to save enough money to make up for the time they will miss from work after the delivery and time they will spend at home. Many have no choice but to continue with the heavy workload immediately after birth. This often results in sapping the women’s energy and blood and leaves them fragile. Understandably, the women then are exposed to horrific outcomes:  bleeding, anaemia, hypertension, malaria, placenta retention, premature labour, prolonged or obstructed labour and preeclampsia (convulsions). These problems often result in stillbirths, premature births, pregnancy loss, maternal mortality, morbidity, and deformity.

One of the women interviewed, a 27-year-old mother, told of her experience of nearly dying five days after giving birth. She worked as a cleaner until a week before her delivery and resumed her job few days after giving birth. Sadly, on her first day at work after delivery, she suffered heavy bleeding.  She had to start work immediately so her children wouldn’t starve. Although she knew she needed to stay home and rest she simply needed the money. It nearly cost her her life.

A New Earth?

new earthWhat is it the end of?  What is new?

Changes are happening now. You see it in climate change. You see it on the news every evening, as governments fall. You see it in the increasing awareness, of young and old, that inequality has a firm grip on this world. You see it in how people are opening up to the emergence of Basic Income political parties.  You see it in the streets as people ‘occupy’ cities all over the world, shouting their outrage at the corporate and governmental greed they witness and how they must live with the consequence of inequality this creates. You see it in the world markets rising and falling in dramatic swings. You see it in the grocery stores as food prices soar.  You see it in meetings between nations trying with all their might to keep capitalism alive, bailing out one bank or country after another.  You see it in sad stories and dying faces of children, after hearing 100,000 lives could have been saved if the world had heeded the warnings of the organizations that said famine is coming to a certain region.  But, people are waking up!

We as a race-the human race-have been so consumed with self interest and survival we cannot fathom changing to an economic system that will be best for all humans, let alone the plant and animal kingdoms. Too often, we would rather close our eyes and continue blindly on our path of destruction.

We have done it to ourselves!  Nothing needs to be predicted as it has been a steady digression.  It has been each and every one of us, over thousands of years who has existed in an secret place of jealousy, anger, hate, lust, greed who has contributed to this cumulation of destruction. This secret place, the seeds that grow into war, rape, murder, starvation and how we are helpless in the face of disease, the elements/nature, age, poverty is the human mind.

We cannot ‘fight’ nor can we win what is coming as we have wished for it, welcomed it, asked for it in every thought, every spite, every unforgiving emotion, every time we walk by our brother in need, every time we use the bank (as in are participating in the banking system), everytime we say ‘it’s not my problem’ or ‘I can’t change the world’ we are this world and we must face and walk through what we have made/manifested. There is no other way.

Oh, the world governments can delay/put off the inevitable, that many countries face bankruptcy but where does that leave future generations?  In a very bad place indeed, instability looms and the gap between rich and poor widens.  And who will be the elite’s soldiers?  Your children, your grandchildren too. Guess what, they don’t care.  As long as their pockets are lined with gold they will sleep well tonight.

new earth 2Have we reached the end of mankind’s dependency on ‘someone/thing else’/the government to solve it’s problems?  How is it working for us now?  Sadly, it is not working.  It is failing most.  So, these times are the beginning of the end, we must rebuild our failed socioeconomic systems: the banking system, the education system, the religious system, the government systems the military system, etc.

Let us build -not from separation but from what is best for all-one world family. Let us build equality. Business knows there is strength in numbers-we have billions then-billions of us human beings.

A number of years ago I saw a woman being beat up on the street, I was in my car and I did not have a cell phone. I started shouting out, yelling at him to stop. He shouted back, ‘ Lady, this is none of your business!’  Someone did call the police and I stayed to see them arrive and spoke to the woman and the officers, she did not want to lay charges, sadly, she minimized it…

I live in Canada, similarily, last week a prominent Canadian radio personality, Jian Ghomeshi, was fired and accused, by 3 women, of physical abuse, in which the women accused him of punching, hitting, choking among other things.  He admitted to enjoying/participating in S and M sex but said these women had ‘consented’.  As such, he feels justified in suing the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) for $50 million for unlawful dismissal (lol).

Ekhmmm… excuse me?  CONSENT IS NOT A DEFENCE, is never justifiable, does not make it ok to Abuse = inflict harm onto another. Period.

Let these changing times be the end of excuses and justifications like ‘it’s my right’, ‘it’s my business’, ‘it’s my choice’  to abuse, kill, neglect, steal, hoard, lie, manipulate and rape OR have these things done onto me. No, no one should have the ‘right’ to abuse the physical body, we are all connected and it effects all of us on some level, thus it is indeed EveryOnes business.

This kind of behavior – by all participants- is a mental illness and should be approached as such. The beginning of the end of the sickness of the private mind so we may regain our sanity as a race and rebuild in true peace (not just an agreed upon truce).

Also last week, a tragic event took place in our nations capital. Sadly, Corp. Nathan Cirillo was ‘..gunned down as he stood ceremonial guard in Ottawa in what the prime minister called a terrorist attack’.  However,  do not be distracted by so called ‘terrorist cells’ popping up in Canada/U.S. as if that is the ‘real enemy’.  These misguided killers are but pawns, veils for the holders of the real power, the controllers of the money supply, the elite families/circles and their corporations.  They are the ones (and the governments they control) who hold the strings of the worlds economies and as such, destiny.  All the press is meant to instill fear into the minds of the citizens who are supposedly ‘no longer safe’.  Were we safe before?

Let this be the end of abdicating responsibility because a loving god, the universe, the government, whatever is going to ‘take care of everything for us’.  No, total responsibility in each moment of each breath. It is the end of another fellow human being as your slave. Clean your own  toilet!  No one or thing is going to clean up the mess.  You are the ‘god’, you are the ‘government’ that will have to build a earth!

So which ‘new earth’ will emerge?  Another version of basically what we have now, with a different spin, one that is controlled by instilling fear of survival?  Or the birth of true humanity by providing a dignified life for all?  This is possible with Living Income Guaranteed.  You decide.

The LIG proposal can be adopted, in part or whole, by any political party.

Ownership: The Lie That Kills

LIG 5I was stunned to find out that a major reason there is so many millions dying of starvation in African countries each year is that, of the 10 countries that the Nile River runs through, only 2 of these countries have the ‘right’ to use the water from the river for irrigation/farming/transportation or any other purpose! This is because Egypt and Sudan apparently ‘own’ the water ‘rights’ of the Nile River.

But does anyone really ‘own’ any part of mother earth? Was the river here before the arrival of the human?  Yes, it was!  Ownership is merely a concept, an idea someone came up with to enforce safety measures against those that intrude and steal or more often, take/conquer and keep all for oneself or ones ‘country’. Why can we not keep the safety measures but forgo the unfair idea of ownership?  The answer to that is, we can.

If you think of two children fighting over a toy, the one child crying ‘it’s mine’ , he only ever gets to ‘keep’ it  if he is bigger/stronger, or someone else (the adult) intervenes and says what the ‘rule’ is. But if human beings are the children, where and who is the adult (god?) to intervene?  No one and nothing is intervening, we must be our own solution, there is no other way.

It seems back in 1925 there was a treaty signed between Britain, Italy and Egypt (this was updated in 1959 to include Sudan). Britain held Dominion over much of the African continent=came with weapons and murdered people to steal the wealth of the African countries and take it back ‘home’ to Britain.  Back then, Egypt and Sudan were Britain’s source of cotton and Britain knew that their rate of production was only possible through the Nile and the use of massive irrigation systems. So in this treaty Britain and Egypt decided that the Nile belonged to Egypt AND and that no-one is allowed to do anything with the water that, as a consequence, will lessen the amount of water that ends up in Egypt, thereby insuring Britain’s cotton crop production.

LIG 4That’s right, they just decided=they made it up ’cause they were bigger and stronger, just bullies in the schoolyard!  No complicated economic theory needed here, they did this  just because they could, because their stick was bigger than the other countries sticks. Just like the two little children fighting over the toy, they were bigger and stronger so got their way. It’s all about power and control and greed.

But supposedly they based this decision on the fact that Egypt has a 7000 year history with the Nile, way back starting with the Pharaohs so historically and traditionally belongs to them. Well, we have to stop referring to history and the past to make decisions based on today. Instead, we must use common sense and compassion to decide upon an approach that is best for all life, which in this case would be all countries through which the Nile flows, are able to use this natural resource to better their economy and support the population!  That would include:   Ethiopia, Uganda, Zaire, Kenya, Eritrea, Tanzania, Rawanda, and Burundi and yes, Egypt and Sudan.

One reason for this decision was it had been determined that Egypt was the country which had made most efficient use of the Nile, in economic terms. So what? Are we not all life? Does a newborn baby today deserve to suffer starvation and die in agony because 85 years ago it’s birth country did not make as efficient use of the Nile as Egypt? We are talking here about an invisible dividing line (again made up by human beings) separating  the land and people into ‘countries’. It is not in fact ‘real’, we make it real by our agreement to participate. Also, let not the fact escape us, that ‘efficient use’ of the Nile meant that Egypt produced cotton for Britian which they could profit from and provide clothing for their people, total self interested motives. The invisible lines have to come down as we wake up to the fact that, this approach, is not what is best for all, as life on earth. And the practice of hoarding commodities, such as cotton, so you can control supply and demand, thereby controlling prices at the expense of millions of others, should be strictly monitored and made illegal/penalized.

Can you honestly look in the mirror or in your child’s eyes and say your child does not deserve to have a comfortable, enjoyable, dignified life but the child across the invisible line=boarder, does? There is a difference is the quality of life because there is a different starting point of the two children, this is inequality. I am not suggesting we eliminate boarders as they provide logistical reference points so we can communicate and move about on our planet. I am suggesting we understand that boarders are nothing more than that–lines we have made up for practical purposes. We do not need to kill each other over imaginary lines!  Our one planet needs one focus; to implement an economic system based upon the principal of what is best for all life, that system is A Living Income Guaranteed.

LIG 1Read the Proposal here:   Living Income Guaranteed Proposal

Sadly, Ethiopia, which was the only African country that was never colonized, simply had ‘no legal representation’ and thus no say in the matter when this treaty was being written and signed, while over 80% of the water that ends up in Egypt originates from Ethiopia!  Many of the countries, when the treaty was being signed, were also too busy focusing on just surviving, so they didn’t really pay attention to the treaty or start thinking of some magnificent irrigation system as they simply did not have that luxury.

After independence from Britain, a few African countries declared the treaty as void but the treaty was never really challenged and nothing was every really done about it because the other countries were scared of Egypt’s military force, also knowing that Egypt still has strong ties with Britain’s, a powerful nation indeed.

Of course, many countries in order to develop, need these type of natural resources to support themselves, just as Egypt did with the Nile, which brings a lot of advantage in terms of agriculture (to irrigate the land in the case of the Nile) and transportation.

So every year Ethiopia and other countries get millions of dollars into the country as ‘food aid’. Also, realize, that when this investment as food is eaten, it is gone. The problem remains, charity is not effective as a solution to starvation.  Crazy, when there is the Nile flowing right through their land!  A sickening consequence of the Nile River ‘ownership’ issue:  wasted food and food aid.

To add to the insanity no one is allowed to assist these devastated African countries in the investment of dams and irrigation system and hydro power  which will actually help them get somewhere to improve the standard of living and create their own food source! And then the few farmers who do work their farms to produce food – can’t get their food sold because its cheaper to get free food aid. So they end up not being able to sell anything and end up joining the food aid line. Ironic.

There exist warehouses in Ethiopia FULL of food, grown right there in Ethiopia. And a warehouse next door FULL FULL with bags of food with the American flag on it, food aid food. So all the food these poor farmers worked so hard for, just rots away and then you end up with a whole nation of people being dependent on food aid. Insanity plain and simple, theft of  8 African countries ability to stand on their own feet, live with dignity, provide sustenance and jobs for their population.

Living Income Guaranteed: The True Answer to Your Prayers

spirit 2 spiritWhether it be music playing  in head , lryics/poetry coming to you ‘out of the blue’, dreams, inspiration, imagination, voices speaking to you during sleep-like a powerful message, or when you first wake up; bad news people, it’s all deception. It is not some ‘special’ message from god, a higher being/intelligence, the universe, angels, a dead relative/friend/famous person, higher power, Jesus or any other deity.

It is your own mind! I know it’s ‘sad’ we are alone, I repeat it is your own mind, from your subconscious/unconscious. All of this really just gives you the run around, keeps you dependent on hope and not fully here in the physical, keeps you busy running, running on faith, hope, prayer.

Does it ever assist you in any practical way that is significant enough to change your life or the world? Well, that’s the tricky part because the answer is , sometimes! The other times we religious/spiritual faithfuls explain it away with ‘oh, it wasn’t time for me to get that’ ‘I obviously have to learn a lesson from not receiving this’ ‘I trust god/universe/fill in the blank that it will come in time’ ‘I’m not in charge, I just hand it over and let god/universe etc. take the wheel’ and on and on.

What kind of loving force would not want you to be in charge, have control over your physical reality (like your own body or the weather for two examples), your own destiny and remain helpless here? What kind of a ‘lesson’ does a child born into extreme poverty and starvation learn, if that is what you believe in?  Hey, even if you are financially loaded you will still age and crumble/decay and die so your ‘power’ of money is ultimately an illusion, nonetheless a helpful and necessary one.

I believed that a ‘higher’ more knowing force was communicating to me for years and I know several people who believe this, in some form or another, as well.  It is widely accepted in the ‘spiritual’ wave of the last 15 or so years.  Spirituality?  Why it is considered less drastic and more ‘real’ or loving to worship the universe than a god?  I have no idea.  It all results in the same thing; you and I being controlled & you and I abdicating our collective and individual responsibility for the increasing madness and abuse that is occurring in our world right now!

Even now, that I understand it is my mind speaking to me, it pulls me in , for awhile, into  ideas, sweet promises of fame and fortune using my ego to lure me. Yes, into the world of thoughts dreams, hopes, fears and away from self realization as who I really am as life, one and equal, on planet earth. So much so that many of us spiritual ones have forgotten what is real; YOU and I with our feet on the ground, our eyes open, walking, moving…this is life and this is how things happen here! This is how we will truly effect change in our world.   By physically doing it, living it.

For years, after I begged god for help when my husband left me and kids penniless, I received music in my mind and figured it was a sign and I was ‘suppose’ to write music and I wasted my time and life on ‘following the guidance of a higher power’.  Note, nothing wrong with music, I still love to write, play and sing, music is enjoyable to create and share!  But music won’t change the world or it would have already.

The thing that fucks with you is sometimes your mind-higher force/god-is right!

OMG, I have accessed the almighty universal force, the secret OR OMG I am one of god’s special chosen ones, OR OMG I am psychic OR OMG I am given great lyrics, I’ll be rich and famous OR OMG I know where the roulette ball will land…so now life will be easy with this magic, psychic force, ability I have to foresee/predict the future (I could often) I will be able to earn a great income for my family and enjoy life!  Right?

Wrong, the thing is, this ability/information is right sometimes and sometimes only.

So what good is it.  Zero, I tried every which way in the book.  It is tempting to assume I was  ‘using god’s/the universe’s gift wrong’.  Oh my, how far we delude ourselves in order to not to burst our  ‘safe’ private bubbles of self-interest.

One good thing that came from following my higher power=my mind was I learned a lot, unwittingly, about the mind!

The main thing I learned was YOUR MIND WILL GO WHERE YOU LEAD IT or you can let it lead you. Very flexible that god/higher power is. If I think I want to be a nun the mind will go there, if I think I want to be a prostitute, cool says the mind, sell drugs to make quick easy money, ok, write music for charity and save the world, yes that’s cool too, to god/the mind, it will switch /change course with you (I realize not immediately but after a few warning nightmare’s or whatever). Not to overstate it, but if I say to myself/think about murder THE MIND WILL EVENTUALLY SUPPORT ME.  See a problem here?

You do not have to be faithful/loyal to something that is so flippant, dare I say insane?!

Conversely, if I let the mind lead, usually when  I was very fearful (like please ‘god’ tell me /show me the path), it would lead me to the world systems of survival always. To career, marriage, children, the whole story, being a ‘sexy’ woman to keep a man happy. But also bit of a loser never really building a life of stability, tranquility but plagued with self doubt/low esteem. That was my story, the story of Sandy, born….died…WHF?

LIG happyWithin a society where a LIG  was in place, people would not have to rely on ideas of a loving god/power, living with a flimsy hope in a better future, just to cope with life.

Join us in working together to ensure a future for ourselves, our children, and future generations, where we put an end to poverty, homelessness, starvation and inequality, where each and every being is guaranteed a living income which will ensure a dignified life.

Living Income Guaranteed: We all Deserve the Best

absolute 2I received a flyer in the mail advertising the latest ‘Coach’ purse. I recall many years ago a wealthy acquaintance feeling guilty about purchasing of a Coach purse costing $1000.00 Canadian dollars!  So, 20 years ago they were making one thousand dollar coach purses, hence the reason I did not bother investigating this flyer further.

Everyone wants and deserves a quality item, ‘Coach’ is a very high quality product so why wouldn’t anyone want a useful, practical product, one that is made well and built to last?  To live absolute is to supply this for all who have a need for it firstly, then for all who just want one for pleasure. To live absolute would be to let go of brand name that exist solely for the purposes of status identification and to justify high prices.  As well as eliminating the need for a company label on the product, no need because there would exist no competition based on profit alone.  Of course there would be a label which could inform the consumer where the product was made, by who, the materials used, the cost of the materials, the availability and how the material was replenished, what the employees were paid to produce the product.  This is based on a ‘best for all’ model/money system, the ‘all’ being:  humans, animals, plants, oceans, all life on earth.

Certain individuals would make this needed product, from a best for all starting point, so that the product would last ie. 50 years and the product is priced so it is attainable to all who need/want it. Living absolute would mean the factory workers, who make the purse would be paid an equal wage as all inhabitant of this earth so they have no need to ‘fight’ for higher wages.  They would also live free of a mortgage, rent, utility bills as all necessities would be provided for freely.

paradiseLiving absolute would mean that factory workers, managers, sales staff, cleaning staff, office staff, etc. would all have equal ownership in the purse factory, there would be no singular/private ownership. Private ownership is not required, never was, just one of the many purposefully confusing economic ‘realities’ of capitalism.

Living absolute means that each part/material required to make the product is considered within respect and dignity for all life, meaning each animal, plant, and person who contributed to make this product as the finished product/unit you see before you in a store.  So all is considered within balance of the ecosystem, quality of life, supply and demand in a real sense (not driven for profit).

Can you see the beauty in living absolute?  Less fear results in less illness, results in increased cooperation, results in increased production… Let’s allow the snowball of ‘best for all’ to roll for awhile.  Keep in mind as you consider a new way, another purposeful deception you’ve heard for years, ‘ we can’t do that, there is not enough to go around!’ and then we are suppose to stop, gasp in horror and shuffle back silently into the herd.

Living absolute means no separation. So if you are me and I am you, we won’t bother about trying to manipulate each other by suggesting my purse is better that yours or I deserve mine and you don’t.  I won’t talk nasty about your purse behind your back because that would be me, using my mind based on opinions and judgments. Where did I get that opinion? From my mind as a past experience, from what my parents or government told me, or from my mind as learned polarities of good/bad, better/less than, inferior/superior.  To live absolute means to shut down the mind as who and what you are and to live within/from a starting point of always asking ‘what is best for all?’  within each and every situation imaginable.

Is that drastic, severe?  Not to me, to me it is drastic to kidnap and repeatedly rape a 4 year old child, take naked photos and videos so men can derive pleasure from it. To me it is severe to starve an innocent little baby for a whole year before it dies, so it only knew suffering and agony for it’s entire ‘life’, when both of these realities are totally avoidable BUT WE DID NOTHING.  Sorry, but our way of life, based on self-interest and greed, is drastic!   Living Absolute, what is best for all, is common sense. Best for all includes YOU.

absolute 3To live absolute means no separation, you are indeed one and equal with all that exists here; humans, animals and the plant kingdom. So your father is my father, there are no separate families or government philosophies, after all, we are the family of human kind.

Why would I judge your purse (as old, unworthy, inferior, better than mine) when I could, just as easily, get one the same or a style that I prefer, if I want/need.  Everything I am saying here would be applied with and within practicality. No one would be allowed 100 coach purses as this would indicate some form of mental confusion and indicate ‘fear’ of lack (using ones mind), that results in the unwarranted act of hoarding.  This would be viewed for what it is, a mental problem that requires correction/assistance.

It may seems silly to use Coach purses as an example of what it means to live absolute but you get what I mean.

Living Income Guaranteed: Jesus and the Fallen Soldier

jesusI am shocked at myself, as I am becoming more aware of my zombie like behavior/response to images, night after night on the news, of soldiers, civilians, students, children lying dead. Having been murdered, lying bloody, the tragedy escapes me.  I feel nothing…or worse have no notice, no horror, no real sense of loss, the reality of the loss of life and what it means. I have become quite numb to it all.

Heaven forbid it was in my backyard…it’s all so foreign/over there. Or if it was one of my family members, the drama would be intense from me. I do think of putting myself in another’s shoes but often the facts seem overwhelmingly complicated and impossible to ‘fix’ . “Nothing I can do so best not dwell on the negative, I must contribute to the positive energy in this world”, that is how I used to think and justify doing nothing in this lifetime to implement solutions and change.  I simply did not see it as my responsibility. That really is a helpless feeling.

I am not suggesting to be in a constant emotional state, overcome with sadness and despair every time one reads the news, as that would be equally as useless, but rather a state of alarm within oneself, a standing up, stating how this is unacceptable.

I am grateful to the Equal Life Foundation, to have a forum to express our process of learning about a solution best for all, LIG, Living Income Guaranteed.  I am not religious but I do remember a story from my youth when Jesus ‘cries’ over a fallen soldier (the supposed enemy) and his followers are  perplexed, upset, and even become angered by his show of compassion.  What he was showing us was that, in equality each loss of life is as tragic- or not– as any other loss of life. Simple, do unto another as you would have them do unto you, love your neighbor as yourself.

I have judged others for my own personal life experiences and other nations for going to war over religion, retaliation, revenge.  But I cannot simply point the finger of blame, as when I examined myself, by imagining my children being killed, I quickly felt hate/murderous.  This energy of ‘hatred’ is within each one of us and indeed adds to the hatred/violence/war in the world.  It is energy, I feel it strongly in my body and being. I have often thought that murder is ‘right there’ in me.

We are All Living our Own Religion of Self: So How’s That Working For Us?

child gazareligionIn this time of massive and increasing unrest:  war, displacement of populations, civilian uprisings world wide, we as the human race, will be forced to face our religion of self; how we have been existing in self interest, in and as the mind.

Our excuse for ignoring the suffering of millions?  Survival of the fittest, apparently it is ok to just take care of myself/my family, even if I make a billion dollars I can ‘keep’ it and not share because I am superior/more fit than my fellow man as I earned/received more money=God on earth, than my fellow man. I have my private/secret mind, so lots of ‘company’ as inner dialogue to soothes my guilty heart, these are my unlimited thoughts, justifications, denials, spites, competitions and comparisons.  My mind is all based on separation, meaning what I think/who I am on the inside and what I do in my actions/who I am on the outside, does not directly effect another human being. But is this true?

In this private religion of self, one does not have to face the common sense practicalities/facts in this world for the reasons some people have sufficient or an abundance of money while others have nothing and suffer. Some of these reasons would be where I was born, my parents and grandparents wealth, my ability to be educated, my access to proper nutrition and medical expertise, the mental state of my parents while they are raising me-are they well rested, over-stressed, able to pay the bills?  Also, the religion I was born into and exposed to, cultural practices, all of these factors have a direct effect on my ability to make money in this physical reality.   In our secret mind we think, ‘Thank god that isn’t me or my family. I’m so grateful that god has blessed me’.  Hmmm…so god picks and chooses?  Like a game ‘suffer, not suffer’ or is god up there dumbfounded like, ‘what are these idiots doing, are they blind!?’

Charity is another sad excuse for us not taking responsibility for what we have created on earth. It seems that the on going status quo of charity is acceptable to most in this world. But it does not and will not solve the literal ‘hell on earth’ that is ‘life’ for millions of people. Charity does not properly address or put an end to the root causes of starvation, rape, poverty, sex-slavery, prostitution, famine, war, violence, domestic-violence, child and animal abuse etc. It merely provides a band-aid. What and who will end hell on earth?  Only us, here.

If there is a god, he/she/it is clearly leaving it in our hand to fix, isn’t that obvious?  What do you lig warthink this god is going to say when you cross over upon death?  That it was ok we turned a blind eye, we threw up our hands individually and collectively?

Please look at the photo I have placed within this blog. Your pain is not greater than another’s pain, this is a simple statement. It is so clear, the message is clear and simple. It matters not to these children that you have some grand theory about their ‘fate’/’lot’ in life or ‘lessons’ they and you are here to learn. They are suffering this moment, they are in pain. Your thoughts are but excuses/justifications to do nothing, take no direct responsibility.

We must STOP. Not tomorrow but today, this very moment. Stop the mind as your self created religion, kill your ego as your created life story and birth yourself ‘here’ as life in the physical. Live what is best for all and not in self interest of ego. Of course we can end war and starvation, we need to implement a new money system and build a new distribution system so that the earth’s resources and wealth are shared in a fair/equitable way, so all may live a dignified life . It will take time and great effort.

My self religion continually tells me I am lacking (even though I have all I need!), I don’t deserve a life of abundance , people/men will always leave me,   I must be fearful of lack of money each day, I must ‘worry’ , I must obsess and I can find comfort in alcohol, pills, food and somewhat my children, I cannot trust myself, I should get a traditional ‘job’ and on and on it goes. It tells me I need to buy a cottage, it’s not fair I don’t have a cottage (although I have a home) because all my ‘peers’ have one, I should get plastic surgery, new clothes, travel, have a husband that earns a higher income, blah, blah, blah.  Greed, jealousy, great fear; these things are a part of my self religion.  Also kindness and charity for the ‘poor unfortunates’ who have less than myself and my ‘lucky’ family. But don’t give too much, don’t leave yourself short, just a little, there, yes , you are a ‘good’ person. Now, no need to think about others, get to work to make money for myself and my family.  That has basically been my religion of self/my secret thought patterns.

Stop the mind as the ego,  face and then let go of self-created self-religion, day by day.

Living Income Guaranteed: What If There Is a Financial Collapse?

LIG 07-break-the-cycleHow will we respond in the possible event that the world’s financial markets, do indeed, collapse?  Will we panic and pick up weapons to defend what little we have left?  Will we band together to help our neighbor? There will be much fear and chaos, that is for sure. What would I do?  What does it mean?

To my understanding, this is what would or could happen: most-if not all-who have money invested in the stock market or bonds etc. will lose their money, the value of your home will diminish to the point of loss (you owe more than it is worth), you lose your job, pensions will be lost.  The elite will shout for all to ‘not lose hope’ insisting ‘we can re-build’ and indeed we could but why re-build the same system of capitalism (based on greed, indifference to your fellow man, hierarchy, business and governmental wealth/ control in the hands of the few) that caused the mess in the first place?

So to survive this financial collapse will not be a matter of keeping the assets/money you have or ‘getting back’ what you have lost.  To survive this you must let go of your ideas about assets/property ownership/social classes/hierarchy/ special or privileged groups of people on this planet.  We will finally have to (after being forced by losing everything) embrace what Jesus said, ‘Love thy neighbor as thyself’ or vanish as a race by ensuing panic leading to war/famine/disease from our food and water. Yes, it could happen to you, not just ‘those poor people over there’.  What if you and your children were the next face of famine?

If there was a financial collapse, I would suggest for you to not vacate your home or apartment because the banks tell you to. I would not leave unless they picked me up and carried me out. I would have no where to go, like most. I will stock pile some food, lots of water, matches, batteries and other items for a typical survival kit. Will it be used, who knows?

To survive this financial collapse will take great courage and honestly, self-honesty.   Each person will have to face himself/herself, looking at where the current financial system of the world- the current capitalism- has led us and ask ourselves if we really want to create that again.

I heard an analogy the other day, that the world was like a big monopoly board and we’re just playing ‘life’ as game.  The winners are clear now, the elite, they’ve got all the property, resources, toys, vacations, all the pleasure, all the pie. The rest of of lost.  Ok, so let us now stop this game and wipe the board clean. We’ll have a break and write some new rules. This time we’ll change the rules.  Yes we can, we can change the laws and rules.

LIG 05-making_payment_thumb

Let us work toward re-building a new system, a new world, which is based on best for all principles and not who can ‘win’ at the game of life, here on earth. I don’t care who can win and I will not accept and allow  a ‘new, improved’ version of the past to emerge from the wreckage of a financial collapse. The new world must be based on equality in fact and not based on charity.  All will live as one and equal in harmony with all life, as in nature and the animals. Separation will reign no more, there will be stillness of mind and a true peace on earth.

Who the hell am I to make such preposterous statements? I am one being here, who is standing up and saying ‘no more’. I am standing up with a group of people at The Equal Life Foundation and we are proposing a new Money System for our planet so that human greed never again rules as our god. If some of this makes sense to you, please investigate Living Income Guaranteed.

There is a solution.  Day by day.  Person by person.  Please join us and be a part of an exciting movement: equality, dignity, support for all of life.

Living Income Guaranteed: God Will Fix It…Won’t He?

god 2
godWhen I accept the idea of a ‘God’, assuming this is an all powerful, loving , creator, I put myself in a position that is ‘smaller’, ‘less powerful’. I assume there is something, some being that ‘made’ me for a reason and I can only ‘hope’ there is a benevolent reason for my existence.   ‘Hope’ in itself is not empowering and I wait, walk…err…stumble blindly along life’s path with only faith (interesting hope and faith both also ‘ideas’ in my mind) trying to do what is ‘right’ (hard to say what right is, as it is different according to your experience) until the day I die so I may enter the kingdom of this ‘leader’. Hmmm…not much to grab hold of there but it’s all I got.

If I accept the idea of ‘God’ I separate myself -as one person trying to do what I conjure is ‘right’-from my fellow human beings, the animal kingdom and nature. I live an existence based largely, if not solely, upon self interest because I am in fact in my head-my mind with beliefs based on fear of survival, endless wants and desires that direct and control me. I accept the notion that there is a ‘right’ path and a ‘wrong’ path for me and he=God ain’t gonna tell me which way to go. I  buy into the notion of ‘signs’, ‘a calling’, ‘answered prayers’, that I now understand to be all thoughts, feelings, dreams- from my own mind!

I am taught and ‘feel’ compelled to go to university, get married, have children, have the same ‘faith’ as my parents, go to the cottage like my parents, buy a home like my parents, have the same values more or less as my parents. I am plagued with guilt, worry, shame, fear, fear, fear…like my father , told to be grateful but it’s good to want and get more, more, more…don’t question the big stuff like where I came from and where I’m going beyond this life, ‘we told you, God made you, God loves you, so be a good little unit, just make money, shop, watch tv and keep quiet for god’s sake!’

What do I allow? When the belief in God is accepted I allow everything and everyone else-save my immediate family and few friends and pets-to sink or swim on their own. Hey, I gotta enough problems trying to survive. I allow the ‘survival of the fittest’ approach to life.

The consequences of this are enormous. Just considering my own little life, then times that by about 7 billion. Everyday is consumed in self interest; how do I get enough money for me, my family, if I have enough money-how do I get more!  OMG what is this on my body, i’m gonna die!, how do I save me?, how do I save for the future, how do I remain youthful, how do I loose this weight?, how do I compete with other women so I don’t loose the main breadwinner in the house?, how do I get better abs, tight butt?, afford to get my hair highlighted, get a new car-mine is getting old, go down south-need to save for that , get that new tv-please God , help me  earn more so I can by the new ipad. Need I say more, it goes on and on. Oh yes, give a dollar to the guy on the street and some at Christmas-’tis the season for giving afterall. Gives you a nice warm feeling, doesn’t it?

So, one consequence; I turn a blind eye to the suffering of millions of people who are starving, who have no clean water, who have no education, who have little or no hope of a better tomorrow . Me and about 5 billion others do this . We are obsessed/possessed by the mind, we are focused inward with god/spirituality/one religion or another and not dealing with what is here in the physical in a practical and logical/mathematical  way.

Speaking of mathematics, I have on several occasions ‘joked’ with my family that if only everyone in the world-not those in the 3rd world-gave me $1.00 that would be enough, I’d be rich and content and it wouldn’t hurt them one bit! They all laugh and agree I’m a little ‘crazy’. Well, what of it? How about it? It makes mathematical sense? Of course not that exactly, but a new way, a way that is based on what is best for all.

Btw, what’s up with all this 3rd world/1st world jargon?  You never hear much about the 2nd world, where the heck is the 2nd world?  It is hip today to joke about something as being a ‘1st world problem’ like ‘Omg, I don’t have enough money to get my nails done’ but then, to your consternation, you notice the old man living on the sidewalk you just passed by.  So you quickly redeem yourself by glibly admitting, with a sly sideways glance to your bff like ‘thank god that isn’t me/god blessed me but not that poor sod’,  but you keep that in your secret mind and out loud you laugh, ‘oh well, that’s definitely a 1st world problem, I shouldn’t complain about my nails, ha ha.’

This is not a judgement, I am guilty just as you.  Point is, we need to stop the abuse here on this very real earth, get out of our mind of faith and hope in a god who will fix things or make things better in our idea of a personal heaven, when we die.  Seeing it in print clearly shows how ridiculous waiting really is.  We’ve waited long enough, nothing happened, no savior has come, the world’s problems have only escalated.  Time to become our own saviors.
